How to Delete a Program on a TI-84 Plus or TI-84 Plus CE

Deleting a single program on a TI-84 doesn’t require a full reset — that would wipe your variables and lists along with it. There’s a dedicated path for removing just the program you don’t need anymore.

Deleting one program

On the physical calculator (TI-84 Plus or TI-84 Plus CE — same menu path on both): 2ND + MEM → 2: Mem Mgmt/Del → 7: Prgm, which lists every saved program. Scroll to the one you want gone and press DEL — it’s removed immediately, with no confirmation prompt, so it’s worth double-checking you’ve selected the right one before pressing the key.

Deleting several at once

If you’re clearing out a batch of old programs, the same Mem Mgmt/Del menu lets you delete multiple entries in one pass instead of repeating the single-program process each time.

Can you undo a delete?

No — there’s no undo, no trash bin, and no confirmation screen to catch a mistake before it happens. The moment you press DEL in Mem Mgmt/Del, that program is gone from memory, and the calculator doesn’t ask “are you sure?” first. The same is true for deleting a variable, list, or app from the same menu. If a program took real effort to write, back it up to a computer with TI Connect CE before you go anywhere near the delete key — that’s the only real safety net the TI-84 has.

Try it yourself

Switch the TI-84 Calculator to Programs mode — the list under Your programs shows every program you’ve saved, each with a ✕ button next to it. Click it to remove that program immediately; nothing else in your variables, history, or lists is touched.
